11" Granada Rotor Swap

The 11" rotor swap is practically a bolt-in procedure, thanks to the popularity of the Mustang II front end in Hot Rod applications.

You'll need caliper adapters since the stock caliper won't reach around an 11" rotor.  Caliper adapters are available from many different Hot Rod parts manufacturers.  I used the kit from Heidts for my swap.

Fatman Fabrications also carries kits for either GM or Ford calipers.

The rotors you want are 11" Granada rotors from any '75-'80 Granada.

The GM Calipers for the Heidt's kit are supposed to come from any '78-'88 GM passenger car, excluding the Corvette.  For my swap, I used 1980 Monte Carlo calipers.

The stock Mustang II brake hoses have a threaded end that screws into the stock caliper.  The GM calipers use a Banjo fitting.  The stock GM brake line have the correct fittings, but are way too short to fit a Mustang II.  You need about 18" of brake line to reach the calipers.  I used the following brake hoses which are for an unknown application:

Brake Hose Raybestos part #4538045
          Schucks/Kragen part #7609076

The Raybestos part has a 3" metal piece that needs bent to point correctly, and is easily busted :( ... The generic part they carry has no metal piece and the connection to the metal brake lines leaves at a 90? angle.

The Raybestos brake hoses require a 5/8" 11tpi securing nut, the generic ones use the stock push clip.

If all the pieces are purchased new, you'll need the caliper bolts for whatever calipers you get, and the following banjo bolt for the banjo fittings:
